2. FOR YOUR SAFETY  
• Rechargeable model :  
- Operating voltage : 230 V AC.  
• Ensure that this voltage corresponds to your mains voltage.  
• Incorrect connection to the power supply may cause irreparable damage,  
which is not covered by the guarantee.  
• This appliance can only be used without its power cord, after charging.  
• Do not charge it in close proximity to bathtubs, washbasins, showers or  
any other recipients containing water.  
• Unplug the shaver before cleaning, changing the shaving head or any  
other manipulation.  
• Battery operated : only use type LR6 1.5 V AA batteries.  
This appliance is designed for domestic and personal use only.  
• Important : Do not immerse the transformer into water.  
• Do not leave the appliance for long periods of time at temperatures  
below 0° or above 40° (behind a window, in direct sunlight,  
for example).  
• Do not expose the appliance to direct sunlight, for long periods of time.  
• Never use the appliance if it is not working properly or if it has been  
dropped (non-visible damage may make the appliance unsafe).  
When the appliance is in use, the clippers must not come into contact with  
eyelashes, hair, clothing or any other objects, in order to avoid any injury risk  
or jamming.  
• Always keep the appliance out of the reach of children.  
Do not use the appliance: on your face, on broken or irritated skin, if you suf-  
fer from dermatological conditions : eczema, varicose veins, skin inflamma-  
tion, beauty spots, acne, warts, birth marks, etc.  
• Never use an electrical extension lead in your bathroom.  
• This shaver can be taken to pieces using special tools; to avoid risks,  
repair jobs of any kind must be carried out by the manufacturer, the manu-  
facturer’s after-sales service or any other fully qualified person.  
• Should your shaver not function correctly, please contact our consumer  
service department, your retailer or approved service centre.

3. TIPS FOR USE  
A- PREPARINGYOUR SKIN  
• Hair removal on dry skin :  
Before shaving : ensure that your skin is perfectly clean and dry. Do not  
apply cream or moisturising milk.  
• Hair removal on wet skin :  
- Rechargeable model : This shaver must not be used with the transformer  
plugged in. When charged, this shaver can be used for shaving on wet  
skin, under the shower, for example. You will obtain a softer shave with  
soap or shaving foam ; avoid immersing the appliance completely into  
water.  
- Battery operated model : This shaver can be used for shaving on wet  
skin, under the shower, for example. You will obtain a softer shave with  
soap or shaving foam ; avoid immersing the appliance completely into  
water.  
B- USINGTHE SHAVER  
• Rechargeable model : The shaver operates with a rechargeable battery.  
Before using for the first time, charge the battery for at least 8 hours using  
the transformer. Once the transformer has been unplugged, the appliance  
can operate for 30 minutes.  
Press the locking switch (F) while turning the On/Off switch on (1).  
• Battery operated : The shaver operates with two LR6  
type alkaline batteries (1.5 V AA). To insert and/or  
replace the batteries, open the shaver’s casing by pul-  
ling the battery cover downwards (FIG 2). Insert the  
batteries in the correct direction, as indicated. Press  
the locking switch (F) while turning the On/Off switch  
on (1).  
C- SHAVING  
1) Remove the shaving head’s protective cover.  
2) Turn the switch to 1 (on).

• Legs :

- Long hair : use the clipper first. Hold the appliance slightly tilted  
towards you and move it slowly against the lie of the  
hair (FIG 3) .  
- Short hair : use the micro-screen. Hold the appliance  
at right angles to the skin and move it slowly against  
the lie of the hair (FIG 4).  
• Underarms and bikini line :  
We recommend that you use the retractable comb in  
the up position for these 2 delicate areas (fig. 5).  
To improve efficiency, stretch your skin with your  
other hand, in order to raise the hairs. In this way, you  
will obtain a closer shave, with little or no irritation.  
If your skin becomes irritated, apply a small quantity of  
talcum powder. Wait for 24 h before applying perfume or  
deodorant under your arms.

4) To turn off the shaver, turn the On/Off switch off  
(0). The locking switch will be actived automatically.

4. CLEANING  
Important : always clean the appliance’s shaving head after use.  
Regular maintenance of the shaving head preserves the shaver’s efficiency  
and extends its lifespan.  
1) Rechargeable model : ensure that the appliance is unplugged.  
2) Remove the protective cover  
3) Release the micro-screen support by pressing on the locking clips and  
pulling upwards (Fig. 6). Carefully remove all hair by blowing on and  
beneath the micro-screen. Clean the shaving head also, with the brush  
(fig. 7/8).  
Never use the brush to clean the micro-screen.  
 
4) The blade unit and trimmer should be lightly oiled from time to  
time with sewing machine oil or similar. Put the top part of the sha-  
ving head back into place.

CAUTION ! Do not press against the micro-screen when replacing it.

6. IN THE EVENT OF PROBLEMS  
« If your shaver is not giving the best possible results !» :  
- Did you remember to hold your skin taut while shaving?  
- Have you cleaned the shaving head properly (see § 4)?  
- Have you remembered to oil your shaver?  
- Is your shaver head worn? You can have it replaced at one of our  
approved service centres.  
• « Having difficulty getting it to work !» :  
- Have you unlocked the lock system?  
- Have you inserted the batteries the right way round (RF3210) ?  
- Have you checked how long it takes to charge up your shaver (RF9210) ?
